I would like to give a short version of my testimony. I feel
this will help you understand who I am and why I created an active Christian
Community in There.
What my life was like before I met Christ
I was depressed and worried about a lot of things.
I was carnal in the world, completely inappropriate behavior.
Always trying to get more stuff. Never satisfied with what we have. Not relying
on God. I was a big collector of things. That was important to me.
I did not show my wife, family or friends the appropriate respect and love that
I should.
The corruption of the world occupied a lot of my time.
I was not fulfilled. I was afraid of death.
How I realized I needed Christ
As an adult, I was not sure I needed Christ. I thought men and government had
corrupted all religion. Religious people were weak in my opinion. I was
corrupted through my education.
I did not realize I needed Christ. But I thought it would be nice if he were
real.
I wanted God and Jesus to be real, but since I had such doubts, that just left
me relying on myself. But with relying on myself, things were really falling
apart.
About my conversion experience
My wife had brought home some tapes she got at work. The tapes were from Dr.
Kent Hovind teaching about creation. It opened my eyes to an absolute God. No
more doubts or worry. More studying gave me absolute proof and trust in God,
Jesus the Bible and Christianity.
My eyes were open to all of the lies I have been fed through years of college.
The tapes help to provide absolute proof that my mind needed. God does provide
so much proof.
At that moment I rededicated my life to God. There was a complete peace that
overcome me. I also realize that the Holy Spirit had stayed with me and
protected me many times through the years that I had turned my back on God.
What difference has Christ made in my life?
Christ has given me the ability to not pursue more stuff just for the sake of
having more. You spend all your life gathering stuff then what?
Jesus has helped me not to be so cynical. That makes my wife and friends a lot
happier. I always have God now, who can handle any of my problems
I am at peace. I am happy with God and my life. I am secure in eternity. I am
not afraid or worried anymore. I am able to appreciate life and the important
things such as family and friends.
I now have Christ and God to help with any problem or concern. They are always
there. Life is good now, especially since it is eternal life.
If you would like more information about my testimony, come and talk to me.
Since I enjoy computers and have found There, I just assumed it would be another
good place to evangelize. It is my desire that this church on There will help to
provide a place to start your journey to accepting our Lord Jesus Christ as your
Savior. I know how easy it is to be a skeptic or an agnostic or even an atheist.
I am hoping to reach out to you and to lead you to the path of Eternal life. I
also want to provide some information to the new Christians and other
interesting details about Christianity.
Here are a couple of good passages that I would like to share.
2 Timothy 4:1-3 1In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the
living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you
this charge: 2Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct,
rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. 3For the time
will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their
own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what
their itching ears want to hear.
1 Peter 3: 14-16 14But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are
blessed. Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened. 15But in your hearts
set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who
asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with
gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak
maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their
slander.
Here is some advice I would like to offer you to help with your pursuit of Gods
love through his Son Jesus Christ.
1. Find a bible teaching Christian church. This is very important, so that you
can concentrate on the word of God and not on the details that makes ‘this
church better than that church because we do such and such’.
2. Get yourself a good study Bible. It does not do any good to read the bible if
you do not understand the translation. I was raised on the Kings James version.
If you did not read that bible then you were not any good. I am here to tell you
that is not true. I currently study with the NIV Life Application Study Bible. I
find it an excellent resource. Now that you have the study bible. Read it and
pray to God that he will help you to understand and live by it.
3. Join a small group and have Christian fellowship. This is essential in the
growth of Christians.
4. Join a bible study.
5. If you have time, listen to some of the excellent teachers of God’s Word on
the radio. People such as Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley, John MacArthur, Tony
Evans and J. Vernon McGee just to name a few.
6. Do research on your own. Look up answers to the questions that bother you. I
will try to cover some of the topics here at the church. But your own research
is always necessary.
7. All of this means nothing if you do not take the most important step. You
must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You must believe that he died
on the cross for your sins and by the grace of God you are saved. You must
believe this and not just pay lip service to it. But it is ok. The facts and
truths are out there. It is easy to believe when God provides a lot of evidence
for us to believe.

some great research links.
I hope to be able to help answer your question about Christianity. Take care to
all and in Gods Love
God Bless You
